Bold color in a three-bedroom
This returning client gave the home a full makeover, and the new color is what the photos needed to show. The living room centers on two emerald-green tufted pieces, a velvet sofa and an armchair, against white walls with hanging plants and a cluster of small framed prints. The front door is painted a bright orange, which I made sure to include in the living room frames because it pops against the green.
How I photographed it
With strong colors on a white backdrop, it is easy for the greens to look too saturated or the whites to turn gray. I balanced the bright window light with the interior so the white walls stay clean and the greens stay rich and accurate. The living room got frames from several angles to show how the seating, the TV wall and the entry connect.
The kitchen has white cabinets, granite counters and stainless appliances, with a small bistro table and stools nearby. I photographed it from both ends to show the full layout.
Bedrooms with their own colors
- A room with a navy velvet headboard and red bedding.
- A room with gray bedding, a brass bed frame and a black geometric dresser.
- Abstract art and plants that tie the rooms to the main space.
