Shannon House – Where Hemang Got It Just Right, in Plaza Midwood Charlotte NC

A modern living room with a wood-paneled accent wall, wall-mounted TV, movie posters, leather chair, floor lamp, large plant, and wooden coffee table on a patterned rug.

I walked out of one shoot and straight into another. That’s just how the day went.

Same neighborhood, fifteen minutes apart, same property management coordination — but the moment I stepped into Shannon House, the energy shifted completely. Where the previous property went bold and busy in every direction, this one had found its rhythm. Warm wood paneling running through the main living space, deep greens, rich earth tones, cohesive room to room — the kind of interior that tells you someone made deliberate decisions and then actually stuck with them. Hemang designed this one top to bottom, and it shows.

Modern dining room with a wooden table set for eight, green velvet chairs, geometric-patterned accent wall, abstract art, potted plant, and a chandelier with hanging glass pieces. Bedroom visible through an open doorway.

The wall panels are what got me first. Textured, intentional, and lit in a way that makes them look completely different depending on the angle you shoot from. I spent more time working around those panels than I probably planned to, but they earned it. Paired with the lighting choices throughout — warm pendant lights, accent lighting that hits the right surfaces — the whole interior has a moodiness that photographs with real depth. The dark bedroom with the 3D geometric wall treatment, the green coffee station nook, the dining space with that abstract art mural — every room had at least one detail that made me stop and reframe before moving on.

Gold outline of Charlotte’s skyline forms a crown shape, surrounded by stars, with “QUEEN CITY CHARLOTTE, NC” written underneath on a green background.

As a vacation rental photographer in Charlotte NC, I’ve shot a lot of homes that check the amenities box on paper. This one checks it in person. The “Queen City Charlotte NC” mural in the lounge, the wood-paneled entertainment wall with the Jaws poster, the “Shannon House” neon sign — it all builds a brand identity that guests will remember and actually want to post. The kitchen is clean, well-proportioned, and gives you room to work — white uppers, green lower accents, a generous island with leather bar stools that anchor the whole space without trying too hard.

A modern living room with a TV on a dark cabinet, a standing lamp, wood panel walls, framed movie posters, and neon sign. The TV displays a black and white image of a lone person in a large, empty parking lot.

The backyard is where the family-friendly angle really comes through. A plunge pool, a kids’ play structure with a slide, Adirondack chairs around the fire pit area, and a “Charlotte” mural along the fence that makes even the outdoor spaces feel designed. Corner lot means more yard, more breathing room, and more compositions available — and I made sure to use all of it.

A minimal abstract artwork hangs on a beige wall above a tall green plant and a large vase with white artificial flowers, next to a cream-colored curtain.
Coffee maker with a glass pot, six beige mugs, and a tray holding assorted coffee creamers and sweeteners on a counter against a green geometric patterned wall.

And then, stepping out of my car between shoots, I hear my name. I look over — it’s Jerry, one of my favorite clients, setting up his brand new Airbnb right next door. “Hey Hari, do my house next.” Some days this job just hands you a good story. Jerry makes great work, and if you want to see what that looks like, here is one of his airbnb that I shot.

Shannon House is a Plaza Midwood short term rental that knows what it is — warm, well-designed, family-ready, and distinctly Charlotte. Hemang and his team at Stayvanah got it just right on this one.
