A Colorful Farmhouse Ready for Families
This Pretty Stays project was one of my early shoots with Ashley and her team, and they were putting the finishing touches on the staging as I arrived. The house is a classic two-story with a big wraparound front porch, and the inside is full of color: coral sofas, a bright blue living room wall, teal accents, and warm hardwood floors throughout.
What the Photos Show
- A two-story home with a covered wraparound porch and a wide driveway
- A large back deck with outdoor seating, surrounded by trees
- A living room with coral sofas, a fireplace, a mounted TV, and a soft blue wall
- A dining area with a long wood table and a teal accent wall with a longhorn skull
- A laundry room with a front-load washer and dryer and open shelves
- A kids’ room with a blue metal bunk bed, a twin over a full
- Bedrooms with crisp white bedding, teal throws, and orange or teal accent pillows
- Teal velvet ottomans and patterned rugs that keep the color story going
Shooting a Home Full of Color
With this many strong colors, accuracy matters. Coral can turn red and teal can drift toward green if the white balance is off. I matched the light in each room so the colors look the same from photo to photo, which helps the whole listing feel cohesive.
For a family-friendly home, I also made sure to show the practical spaces. The bunk room, the laundry, and the deck are the details that help parents decide quickly that the house will work for them, especially for longer stays.
