ChatGPT Sent Him My Way – Airbnb Photoshoot in Denver NC Charlotte Area

A modern dining room with a wooden table, beige chairs, glass vase, abstract wall art, large leafy plant, white walls, and a woven rectangular light fixture hanging above the table.

I’ll take the referral however it comes. This one came from ChatGPT. The second one this year.

Alex reached out after going through a list of photographers using AI search recommendations — and somehow, in a world full of options, he landed on me. What made it more interesting is that his own brother shoots real estate photography. The man had a free option sitting right in the family, and he still called. Now that’s added additional responsibility on me. And then his wife made it even better — she told him he should just do it himself since he’s a prof. hobbyist photographer and save the money. When Alex mentioned that on shoot day, I told him straight: “We need to make sure we prove your wife wrong.” I really hope I did.

The property sits on a cul-de-sac in the Denver NC area, which already tells you something — private, tucked away, no through traffic, the kind of street where guests actually decompress the moment they pull in.

A white, single-story house with black shutters and a double garage sits at the end of a wide concrete driveway, surrounded by green trees and landscaping on a sunny day.

The front elevation is clean and well-kept, and the moment you walk around back, the whole property opens up.

A clear swimming pool surrounded by lounge chairs, an umbrella, a pergola, and trees on a sunny day. The area is enclosed by a black metal fence.

A pool, a hot tub, an expansive deck with outdoor dining, a grill setup, lounge seating, and a fireplace area overlooking a wall of mature greenery that gives the entire backyard that private resort feel.

Wooden outdoor furniture with white cushions arranged on a deck, a round table in the center, a blue patterned rug, potted plants, and a view of green trees in the background under a clear sky.

I spotted some beautiful flowers along the edge of the yard and couldn’t resist — I took a full vantage point shooting through the blooms toward the back of the house, and that frame is one of my favorites. Sometimes nature just hands you a composition. You just have to see it.

A large white house with a spacious elevated deck overlooks a green backyard, framed by blooming purple flowers and leafy branches in the foreground.
Three wooden Adirondack chairs encircle a stone fire pit on a bed of white rocks in a grassy backyard bordered by tall trees and a wooden fence.
A single pink rose blooms on a leafy vine in the foreground, with blurred lounge chairs and a white umbrella by a sunny poolside area in the background.

The garage has been repurposed into a full game room — dark theme, arcade games, ping pong, pool table, all of it. The kind of space that makes a group booking a very easy decision. It photographs with real depth when you nail the lighting, and the dark palette actually worked in my favor once I found the right angles.

Two red ping pong paddles, three balls, a basketball, a black speaker, and other small items are arranged on a black ping pong table.

Inside, the house is well put together and flows comfortably from room to room. The living spaces are warm and open, the bedrooms are clean and guest-ready, and the bathrooms are finished properly with stunning double shower heads.

But the dining room stopped me completely. That lamp — I don’t know who picked it, but it deserved its own session. Every angle I tried in that room gave me something worth keeping, and I genuinely lost track of time in there. As a vacation rental photographer near Charlotte, that kind of room is a gift.

I’ll be honest about the kitchen — dark black cabinets are not my personal favorite to shoot. They demand a lot of patience with lighting and composition, and they don’t forgive much. But I know plenty of guests who love that aesthetic, and I made sure the photos did it justice.

Modern kitchen with dark cabinets, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, three barstools, pendant lights above the island, and tiled flooring. Large window on the left provides natural light.

What I did not expect in that kitchen side was the coffee machine. It looked less like an appliance and more like something you’d find in an industrial facility — which made complete sense the moment I found out Alex is an industrial designer. Of course his coffee machine looks like it has a manual with safety warnings.

Green and yellow soap dispensers and a glass vase with white flowers sit on a white bathroom counter near a window.

Alex, his brother, and his wife all saw the final photos at the same time. I’d like to think the case was made. The wife’s verdict is still pending — but the photos speak for themselves.
