Short Term Rental Photographer in NC Captures Unique Airbnb with Character Near Uptown

Every shoot tells a story, and this one was all about shared passion and vision. Joseph, a general contractor, brought the same level of care and detail to his short term rental that I bring to my photography. It’s always refreshing to meet someone who takes pride in their work, and this shoot was truly a meeting of the minds.

Joseph’s Airbnb, once his primary home, is a beautiful 3-bedroom ranch with easy access and great curb appeal. I was especially impressed with his landscaping—something I might even say I’m a bit jealous of! The backyard stretches long, offering a peaceful vantage point, and is perfect for outdoor relaxation. From the covered porch to indoor and outdoor games, every feature was thoughtfully planned to enhance the guest experience.

Located in a quiet neighborhood not far from uptown, this home stands out not just for its layout, but for the host behind it. Joseph’s dedication to creating a welcoming space really shows, and I’m sure guests will feel it the moment they walk in. I’m glad I had the chance to capture it through my lens.

For the first time, I took a selfie with a client—and it wasn’t just about the photo. We had a great conversation throughout the shoot, and moments like these make my job so much more rewarding.

As a professional Airbnb photographer, it’s not just about capturing beautiful spaces. It’s also about connecting with people who care about creating a great guest experience. This was one of those shoots where everything just clicked—both creatively and personally.

Photographing a contractor’s own home

When a general contractor renovates his own house, the finish work is the selling point. I made sure the photos show it: clean drywall lines, a fireplace with built-in shelving, a kitchen with dark cabinets, a range hood and white subway tile, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a round black mirror and matte black fixtures. Straight vertical lines matter even more when the craftsmanship is the story.

The living room opens to the kitchen, so I shot from the corner to show both, with the tall windows balanced so the street outside stays visible.

Curb appeal and the backyard

The bright blue front door and the covered porch with a wood plank ceiling and blue Adirondack chairs make a strong first impression, so they got their own frames. Out back, the long yard has a fire pit with more Adirondack chairs, cornhole and string lights on posts, and I shot it wide to show the depth of the lot and the trees beyond it.

Details worth a close-up

  • A woven tray with a remote and a decorative sphere on the coffee table.
  • A soft throw and pillows layered on the sectional.
  • Framed art in the entry next to the blue door.
