A Light-Filled Home Near Uptown
This was a last-minute request, and I am glad I could fit it in. The home sits close to uptown Charlotte and has the kind of natural light photographers dream about: tall windows in nearly every room, white walls, and warm hardwood floors that glow when the sun comes in. The staging added personality with vintage-style furniture and bold art.
What the Photos Show
- A front porch with white siding, red shutters, and comfortable outdoor chairs
- A living room with a caramel tufted sofa, red accent chairs, and a glass coffee table
- A mantel decorated with a wreath and small accents
- A dining room with a dark wood table, gray chairs, and a big area rug
- A kitchen island with extra seating near the dining area
- A bright white kitchen with stainless appliances and fresh tulips on the stove
- In-unit laundry tucked off the kitchen
- A bedroom with colorful lion artwork, a gray bed, and a desk for remote work
Working With Natural Light
When a home has this much daylight, my job is to keep it looking natural. I balanced the bright windows with the interior so you can still see outside, and kept the whites clean without letting the warm wood and leather tones fade. The result feels like walking through on a sunny afternoon.
I also love shooting homes staged by different designers and co-hosts. Each one has a style of their own, and this one mixed classic furniture with modern art in a way that feels fun and welcoming.
