Airbnb and short-term rental photography across Charlotte and Lake Norman.

Cozy Duplex Airbnb Arbitrage Photoshoot

This is one of two duplex units. From the outside, it appears to be rather typical. However, the host has done an excellent job of utilizing the space with simple and highly attractive furnishings that include all of the necessities as well as add-ons. Working in a small environment is always difficult, but I enjoy it. This Airbnb is about 700 square feet, but it includes two bedrooms, one bathroom, and plenty of space for a living area and kitchen. The host has generously included a sofa bed, bringing the total number of guests to six. More photos are below.

At times I run into hosts who dont’ value professional photos are important for airbnb. I cannot emphasize enough, how much is important to have a professional photographer for your airbnb listing to increase the odd of having guests to engage more on your listing which helps the airbnb algorithm to push your listing to the top.

Of course, there are several other elements that must influence the algorithm, but it all begins with the professional photos.

Making 700 square feet work in photos

A two-bedroom unit in about 700 square feet has to make every room count, and the photos need to prove that it does. I shot the living room from the corners to show the full arrangement: a tan sofa that converts to a bed, two armchairs with navy pillows, a wood media console and blue curtains framing the front windows. A second frame from the opposite side shows the sofa bed opened up, so groups can see where the fifth and sixth guests will sleep.

Bedrooms and the essentials

Each bedroom got a straight-on frame with the bed between matching lamps. The green floral bedding and abstract art in one room give it a fresh look without crowding the space.

For a compact rental, close-ups of the essentials do a lot of work:

  • A welcome tray with a bottle of wine and a framed note.
  • A coffee and breakfast cart with a kettle, a coffee maker and a toaster.
  • A side table with snacks, a card game and the remote.

The entrance

In a duplex, guests want to know which door is theirs. The exterior frame shows the private entrance with its black door and railings, which removes any guesswork at check-in.
