Walking into a large home as an airbnb photographer can be a hit or miss—bigger spaces can be tricky to decorate. But this short-term rental was a perfect example of a host who truly cares about creating a memorable experience for guests. From the moment you step in, every detail feels intentional and welcoming.
One of the standout features was the entrance—high ceilings, a cozy yet elegant living room, and a layout that makes you feel right at home. But what really impressed me was the kitchen remodel. The rustic charm, luxurious tile work, and well-thought-out details made it an absolute joy to photograph. The host wanted several detail shots, and I was happy to capture them, like the unique texture of the light fixtures above the island. Instead of turning the lights on, I focused on showcasing the textures in their natural form, ensuring they remained the highlight of the space.
The home is set up with two beautifully designed rooms upstairs, a common area, and a warm, inviting atmosphere throughout.
Every inch of this home was designed with care, making it a special place for guests to enjoy. I had a great time capturing its beauty, and I hope these photos do it justice!
Photographing a large home with a warm feel
Big rooms can photograph as empty, so I chose angles that show how the furniture fills each space. The entry opens to a high-ceilinged area with a staircase, a long farmhouse dining table and an antler-style chandelier, which I shot together to show the scale. The living room centers on a fireplace with a round mirror above it, and a sofa table with candles helps divide the open floor plan.
Textures over light
The kitchen’s gold and white hexagon tile and the woven light fixtures above the island were the details the host cared about most. I photographed them with the fixtures off so the texture shows clearly, which is often the better choice for detail shots: a lit bulb pulls the eye away from the material.

- A coffee corner with a chalkboard sign, a cloche and a white mug.
- A tiered tray with greenery and small signs on the kitchen counter.
- A laundry room with a front-load washer and dryer and open shelving.
- A second sitting area with a TV, a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee station.
