Some shoots take a little longer to happen than planned—but hey, better late than never, right? The host reached out a while back, and by the time I finally walked in with my camera, the wait was totally worth it. Spaces like this remind me why I love what I do: every corner has a story waiting to be captured.
This Airbnb sits in a peaceful neighborhood, but don’t mistake quiet for boring. The house is fully loaded with everything guests could want and then some. A hot tub ready for late-night soaks, a fire pit begging for marshmallows, plenty of games, and a backyard that practically demands you sit down and stay awhile.
Inside? Thoughtful furnishings and cozy touches that make it as photogenic as it is comfortable.
And just when you think it can’t get better, the host drops that they’re planning a mural for the backyard. Honestly, the list of features could fill an essay, but I’ll spare you. I’ll just let the photos handle the bragging.
So yeah, this shoot may have been fashionably late, but when a home looks this good, my lens and I are more than happy to play catch-up.
How I photographed the backyard
The backyard is the reason many guests will pick this home, so it got its own run of photos. I started with a wide shot of the patio, where a dining table, lounge chairs, an umbrella and the hot tub sit together under the trees. Then I moved out to the lawn for the games: cornhole boards in teal and orange, and a disc golf basket set against the wood privacy fence. Each frame shows a different way to spend an evening outside.
Inside, warm and easy to read
The interior has a consistent palette of white walls, warm wood and burnt-orange accents, which made it simple to keep the gallery cohesive. The kitchen has gray cabinets, a marble-look island with wood stools and stainless appliances, and it opens to the living room, so I shot them together to show the flow. Bedrooms got symmetrical frames: a rattan headboard between brass reading lamps in one, pendant lights on both sides of the bed in another.
Details guests notice
- A coffee station with a Keurig, a French press and mugs on hooks.
- Wrapped makeup wipes and folded towels on the bed.
- A reading corner with an armchair and a bookshelf by the patterned-tile bathroom.
- A neat brick front with a green door and a big front lawn.
