The Green Gatsby in Dilworth
The name says it all. This two-unit duplex in Dilworth was styled by Pretty Stays with a Gatsby-inspired look: emerald velvet, gold accents, black curtains, and bold art. From the outside, it is a classic brick duplex with matching black front doors and wreaths. Inside, it feels glamorous but still comfortable enough to kick your feet up.
What the Photos Show
- A brick exterior with twin entrances, brick steps, and planters
- A living room with an emerald velvet sofa, gold-trimmed chairs, and a glass coffee table
- A staircase with patterned risers that adds a fun design detail
- A bright work area with a white desk and a modern chair
- A bedroom with a black tufted headboard and lime green pillows
- Another bedroom with a brass bed frame, mustard throw, and soft linen curtains
- Plenty of plants, mirrors, and gold accents tying the rooms together
Photographing a Themed Rental
When a property is built around a theme, the photos need to make that theme obvious in the first few images. I led with the living room, where the green velvet and gold details are strongest, then showed how the look carries into the bedrooms. The patterned stairs got their own shot because details like that are what guests remember.
For a duplex, the exterior also matters. Showing both entrances helps guests understand that each unit has its own front door and privacy.
