This recent Airbnb photoshoot in Uptown Charlotte for Trifecta Corporate Housing embraced a simple and minimalistic design, highlighting all the essentials needed for a comfortable stay while boasting the convenience of being close to everything Uptown has to offer. What made this shoot unique was the approach I was asked to take—capturing multiple angles of the same spaces. While I typically avoid repetitive shots, it made sense here to showcase various points of view and emphasize the functionality of the layout.
It was a great learning experience for me, as I focused on shooting with purpose and tailoring the work to meet the specific needs of the host. The host herself was an absolute pleasure to work with—kind, professional, and an excellent communicator. I’m confident that guests staying here will feel right at home and be well taken care of throughout their stay. This Airbnb offers a perfect blend of simplicity, functionality, and convenience for anyone visiting Charlotte.
Why multiple angles made sense here
Corporate housing guests often book longer stays and study the listing closely, so this host wanted several angles of each space. That way, a guest can understand exactly how the apartment is laid out before arriving. For an open-plan unit, seeing the living room from both ends answers questions that a single wide shot can’t.
Photographing a minimal space
Minimal design needs careful light and clean lines. The apartment has gray accent walls, white board-and-batten panels, floor-to-ceiling windows and dark wood floors. I kept every vertical straight and balanced the bright windows against the interior, so the rooms look airy without the city view outside turning white.
The kitchen got frames from both the dining area and the living room, showing the white cabinets, dark counters, stainless appliances and the island with pendant lights and stools.
Details worth a close-up
- Folded white towels on gray bedding with geometric pillows.
- Round mirrors and wood nightstands framing each bed.
- A balcony with a living-greenery privacy screen overlooking the street.
- A bathroom with a double vanity and a lit mirror.
