I recently had the pleasure of doing a professional Airbnb photoshoot for a charming two-floor short term vacation rental near Plaza. The hosts, a dedicated father and son team, were as passionate about design and quality as I am.
Although new to Airbnb, they did not compromise on details, readily embracing on-the-fly recommendations to enhance the airbnb photoshoot. The property was thoughtfully furnished, showcasing a natural flair for colors, textures, and shapes.
The attention to detail is what sets some Airbnbs apart, making them truly special. I thoroughly enjoyed taking photos of this exceptional airbnb.
What made this two-story stand out
This home mixes bold color with natural textures in a way that photographs beautifully. A living-room wall is covered in faux greenery with a “good vibes” neon sign, a navy accent wall frames the TV in one bedroom, and a canopy bed draped in sheer fabric sits against a teal wall in another. Downstairs, a light-blue kitchen with butcher-block counters, double wall ovens and colorful rag rugs adds a playful note.
How I photographed it
The main floor has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and a staircase that rises right through the living room, so I shot from angles that show the height and the way the open spaces connect. The kitchen got two frames, one from each end, so guests can see the full run of cabinets and the breakfast bar with its stools.
Since the hosts were open to small changes on the spot, we adjusted a few things as we went: straightening pillows, clearing counters down to a few pieces and opening blinds for more light. Those small moves make a real difference in the final images.
Details worth a close-up
- A brass sputnik chandelier over a round rattan coffee table.
- Woven wall art and a large plant at the foot of the stairs.
- A patio with dining chairs and a fire table beside a charcoal-painted exterior and a yellow door.
