Let me start by saying—this one was far. Like, really far for the size of the property that I would normally travel for airbnb photoshoot. But hey, when you pull up to a place and immediately get greeted with charm, it makes the drive worth it.

This little Airbnb is a sectioned-out apartment in a ranch home, but don’t let that fool you. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing. From the massive private gravel driveway to the welcoming fenced gate with giant lettering pointing you to the apartment, everything screams, “We’ve thought this through.” Even the pathway is cute, with evening lights along the fence that make you want to sit outside and just take it in.

Inside, you’re welcomed with a cozy setup—a lovely bed right beside a loveseat couch, a TV, a mini fridge, a mini kitchen, and yes, a full bathroom. Compact, yes. But thoughtful? Absolutely. It’s in the heart of Monroe, and while it might be small, it’s packed with comfort and personality. Honestly, this is exactly the kind of space that makes photographing Airbnbs fun for me—because every little detail counts.

Photographing a compact apartment

In a small space, every photo has to earn its place. I shot the main room from the corners so guests can see how the bed, the loveseat and the TV wall fit together, and I kept the camera at a natural height so the room reads at its true size. The mustard curtains and bedspread give the space its warmth, and I balanced the light from the windows so that color stays rich instead of washed out.

Then I photographed the practical parts one by one: the mini fridge with a coffee maker and kettle on top, the open shelving with a microwave, the washer, and the full bathroom with its walk-in shower. For a compact rental, those frames answer the questions guests would otherwise send in a message.

The outside, from the gate in

The arrival matters here, so I photographed the private gravel driveway and the fenced gate first, then the small backyard with its striped umbrella, swing bench and grill. It tells guests the space is private and easy to find.

Details worth a close-up

  • Remotes and a soft throw arranged on the loveseat.
  • A sliding barn door between the bedroom and the kitchenette.
  • A round rattan mirror and fresh flowers by the bed.
