This recent Airbnb photoshoot was for a client who’s transitioned from long-term real estate into the competitive world of Airbnb hosting. While many new hosts are cautious about spending, success often comes from doing what it takes to stand out. That’s exactly what this host did.
After months of careful planning, they ensured everything in the property was top-tier. A standout feature? Every room, including the living room, is equipped with a massive 75” TV—a rarity in any Airbnb. The host’s attention to detail extends to the earthy furniture tones, paired beautifully with high-contrast wall art, creating a striking aesthetic.
With a large driveway, cozy backyard, and a prime location near Plaza Midwood, this Airbnb is perfectly positioned to attract guests. I’m excited for my client as they step into this new space and I can’t wait to see more beautiful properties in the future.
In the short-term rental professional photography is crucial. Hosts who understand this from the start are setting themselves up for success.
Photographing art-filled rooms
This home pairs crisp white walls and black shades with large, colorful abstract paintings in every room. Art like that is the first thing guests notice, so I framed each bedroom to keep the paintings fully in view above the bed, with the bed centered and both nightstands in frame. Color accuracy mattered here; I kept the reds, blues and yellows in the art true without letting them tint the white walls.
Showing every TV without making it the subject
With a large TV in every room, the trick is to include it without letting a big black rectangle dominate the photo. I angled the shots so the TVs read as a feature, then gave the paintings and the bedding the main focus.
Kitchen, living room and outdoor space
The kitchen has white cabinets, a patterned backsplash, a range hood and a dark island with stools, and I shot it from the dining side to show it opening onto the deck. The living room combines a dark accent wall, green velvet chairs and a leather chair. Out back, a wood deck with a dining table and benches overlooks the yard.
Details worth a close-up
- A bathroom with a vessel sink, brass fixtures and a textured white wall panel.
- A coffee and toaster station on the kitchen counter.
- A bright teal front door on a white-painted brick exterior.
