You never really know where your next shoot is going to come from as an STR photographer. Sometimes it’s an airbnb host scrolling through their usual vacation rental groups looking for a short term rental photographer. Other times? It’s a wild card—like a random Facebook post in a small business group. Yep, that’s where this started.

Erin the owner of boutique short term rental management company had dropped a post looking for a short term rental photographer. And like bees to honey, photographers came swarming in with their portfolios. I threw mine into the ring—not expecting much, honestly. Let’s be real, it’s always a coin toss with first-time clients. Some people have a budget so tight it squeaks. Others look at photography with a creative eye. Erin? She chose creativity. (Gold star for her.)
She texted me saying she loved my work. And from that moment, it felt like we were both in it to win it.

Now here’s the kicker—up until the day before the shoot, I didn’t even ask for the address. I wasn’t sweating it. No expectations, just vibes.
Then I opened Google Maps right before the shoot, zoomed in, and BAM. That house. That layout. You know when a home just screams “there’s a story here”? Yeah, that. The second I pulled up, I knew this wasn’t going to be your average STR photoshoot.

Let’s talk about the space. This short term rental home? I genuinely called it over-staged… but in the best possible way. Like Erin had a personal vendetta against boring interiors and decided to go full HGTV mode. She nailed every detail. Every nook had a purpose. Every corner had a vibe. It was like a Pinterest board came to life—and then brought snacks.

So what made this Airbnb for executives so special?
Let me count the ways.
Luxury? Check.
Creativity? Check.
Modern layout, calming tones, textures that made the camera weep with joy? All there.
A mix of entertainment, peace, water features, indoor games, outdoor privacy, and more character than a Netflix limited series.

Seriously, I could write an article about each one of these elements—space utilization, lighting, colors, you name it. But instead, I’ll just let the photos do the talking. After all, if a picture’s worth a thousand words, this gallery’s basically a novel.

This shoot reminded me why I love what I do as a short term rental photographer in charlotte. When someone puts heart into a home, it’s my job to make that heart smile back at me.

Now excuse me while I go look at those final shots one more time and pretend I live there. Because honestly, who wouldn’t?
